Rhoda adds a touch of class! | Rhoda tells of her life in Rotary |
Rhoda Lopez has been an exchange student, assisted as a RYLA leader, and spoken on many occassions at schools around Perth on how the generosity and vision of Rotarians has changed her life. Rotary has given her the opportunity to confront her fears and mature in faith. Rhoda challenged us all to do the same in whatever our endeavours. She told of her first moments in France and not being able to speak a word of French with her host parents. A friend on the airplane told her to say the words "ques que c'est" if she did not know what to say, and these words opened the door to many a conversation. Rhoda has been involved in theatre for some time and did her studies in the east to return to the smaller city of Perth to practice her skills and talents. She has a wonderful voice and sang for us "I hope you dance" at which point I was quite happy to join in and dance. She has been chosen to play a part in the production "Miss Saigon". She exudes a confidence which we all admired and we look forward to seeing her success in her endeavours. |
And a moment to touch the heart as well... |
