This year the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour is participating for the first time in the project "Cans for Christmas" where the public in suburbs such as Dalkeith, Nedlands, Shenton Park, Subiaco and Daglish are asked to donate cans of food for the charity FoodBank WA:

This project was originated some years ago by the Rotary Club of Dalkeith and this year the other Rotary Clubs participating are: Mosman Park, Matilda Bay, Nedlands and Western Endeavour.
Our Rotary Club will be collecting from the suburbs of Subiaco and Daglish.
Club Members made the plastic bag bundles for distribution on the 21st of November at the offices of our Club Member Michael Lee. A big thank you to Michael and Wendy for allowing us to use their offices for the bundling process. A total of 1,500 bundles were produced on the night ready for distribution.
Members of the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour have been distributing the plastic bags to houses in Subiaco and Daglish over the past week. The photograph above is our hard working Club Member Judy Dinnison and her grandson Joe distributing the plastic bags for the collection. Judy has also written an excellent Article on the Cans for Christmas - click here.
The collection of the cans is taking place on Sunday the 3rd of December and the other Clubs are also collecting in the their areas on the day.
We are hopeful that the public will be generous with donating cans of food which will help FoodBank WA make Christmas a better experience for those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
I also need to thank Club Members Barrie Heald and Harry Nesbitt who have done a lot the preliminary work to make the collection a success.
