Good afternoon,
I write to you with a proposition which I hope will be of interest to everyone at the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour.
The presentation I wish to share with your members is a personal story about my journey from life saving open heart surgery as a child; through to being an adult who spent over 2 1/2 years, cycling 52,000km around the planet.
This journey highlights what anyone can achieve with self belief and the courage to take that first step into the unknown. To date, I've raised almost $50,000 for the Australian, New Zealand and British Heart Foundations and believe I have only just started.
Recently, I received the Australian Heart Foundation 'Heart Hero Award' while I am also an Ambassador for Waterline Challenge
Based on my planned travel schedule, I could potentially present at your club on Tuesday 14th, 21st or 28th November 2017.
My plan is to spend 3-4 months touring Australia, sharing this hugely popular presentation with as many Rotary Clubs, Schools and Sports Clubs as possible. If I receive enough positive responses over the next two weeks, I will drive across from Melbourne and speak to your members.
Unfortunately, there will be huge financial costs incurred as I tour Australia which is why I ask if your club would mind paying a $50 speaker fee. This would contribute massively towards my travel and accommodation costs while I'm away from Melbourne.
In exchange for this nominal fee, I'd give your Club one of the most inspirational and memorable presentations they are likely to see this year.
I've already spoken at three Rotary District Conferences and over 200 Rotary Clubs around Australia, New Zealand and Britain. Some clubs have considered this as the best presentation they have ever seen. It has also been used as an opportunity to to invite the wider community so that people can see what Rotary is about.
